| Based in Palo Alto, California, Jean-Francois “Jeff” Clavier is the Founder and Managing Partner of SoftTech VC, one of the most active seed stage investors in Web 2.0 startups. Since 2004, Jeff has invested in more than 30 consumer Internet companies developing new concepts (such as social media) or revisiting “old” ideas with a new set of economics and technologies. In 2007, Jeff was recognized as one of the 13 “Web 2.0 King Makers” by Business 2.0, and is often noted for his investments in categories such as “passion-centric communities,” or for having already sold five of his companies in the past two years through successful M&As. | Istvan Cseri is a Distinguished Engineer at Microsoft Corporation working as an architect in the SQL Server Data Services team. He has been working in the SQL Server product team prior to this as a development manager and architect on XML support in SQL Server 2005 and before that in SQL Server 2000. He joined Microsoft in 1994 where worked as a technical lead and developer in Internet Explorer 4.0 followed by working as an architect on XML technologies - XML parser and XSLT engine. Prior to Microsoft he has been working at Borland International from 1988 to 1994. There he was one of the main developer engineers on Quattro Pro for Windows followed by managing a shared UI Framework project. He started his software career as a game developer on several different platforms, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Amiga and PCs in 1983. | Anil Dash, Chief Evangelist, Six Apart, Ltd. 
| Anil Dash is Chief Evangelist at Six Apart, Ltd, where he's played a formative role in helping create the world's leading blogging company. Dash is a recognized expert on blogs, web technology, web culture and the software industry, having founded one of the earliest and most popular weblogs on the Internet, which was named one of MSNBC's "Best of Blogs". A frequent keynote speaker, Dash has given presentations around the world about the future of social communication online, the relationship between blogs and traditional media, and business blogging. Prior to joining Six Apart as its first employee, Dash worked in online communications and technology development for the publishing and music industries. When he's not traveling, Dash lives in New York City with his wife Alaina Browne, a noted pioneer in the world of online food media. He was VP of product management at Groove Networks, VP of product marketing at Bowstreet, VP of product development at Napster, and director of engineering at Alta Vista. With his combination of technical and marketing experience, he provides valuable strategic and operational insight for startups. | Scott Guthrie, Corporate Vice President, .NET Developer Division, Microsoft | Scott Guthrie is corporate vice president of Microsoft’s .NET Developer Division, where he runs the development teams responsible for delivering Microsoft Visual Studio developer tools and Microsoft .NET Framework technologies for building client and Web applications. A founding member of the .NET project, Guthrie has played a key role in the design and development of Visual Studio and the .NET Framework since 1999. Guthrie is also responsible for Microsoft’s web server platform and development tools teams. He has also more recently driven the development of Silverlight – a cross browser, cross platform plug-in for delivering next generation media experiences and rich internet applications for the web. Today, Guthrie directly manages the development teams that build the Common Language Runtime (CLR), ASP.NET, Silverlight, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), IIS, Commerce Server and the Visual Studio Tools for Web, Client and Silverlight development. Guthrie graduated with a degree in computer science from Duke University. | Joseph Hill, Product Manager, Novell  | Joseph Hill has been an active participant in the Mono community since 2003, and has also been an active contributor to several open source ASP.NET applications. As a professional developer, he has done significant work in design and implementation of .NET applications for a number of customers including Fortune 50 companies in areas such as financial services, supply chain management, and others. In January 2008, Joseph joined Novell to serve as the Product Manager for Mono. | Anand Iyer, Developer Evangelist, Developer and Platform Evangelism, Microsoft  | Anand joined Microsoft in January 2005 as a Developer Evangelist, Microsoft's ambassador to the technical community of Northern California. During his tenure there, he has been in the midst of several launches, such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, Vista, Office and many others. He has spoken at over a hundred conferences on a variety of topics. Anand is actively involved in the startup community in the Silicon Valley and empowers with them to launch their business on the Microsoft platform. Before joining Microsoft, Anand worked for Cisco Systems' New Business Ventures team, pioneering XML-based manageability solutions. During his five-year tenure as a Technical Lead and Software Engineer, Anand worked closely with customers to fine-tune his product features. Anand has extensive experience software methodologies, and has worked on several development platforms, including Linux and Unix. He is fluent in C, C++, Java, and PERL. Anand has also earned two patent awards related to manageability solutions on networking platforms. | Nicolas Kardas is Senior Product Manager in the Windows Live Platform team at Microsoft and is responsible for defining the Windows Live Platform strategy, business model and building an ecosystem of partners, developers, and end users building compelling applications using Windows Live Platform Services. Prior to his current role, Nicolas was Director of Business Development in the Emerging Business Team at Microsoft with responsibility for building stronger relationships with innovative startup companies and the Venture Capital community by demonstrating the value of partnering with Microsoft. Before joining Microsoft, Nicolas was the CTO of Infotility, a startup providing software solutions for the Energy industry. | Dan'l Lewin is corporate vice president of Strategic and Emerging Business Development, responsible for managing worldwide strategic business relationships with venture capitalists and emerging venture-capital-backed businesses, as well as managing the business relationship with leading global industry partners such as SUN, Adobe, Intuit and BEA to ensure their applications interoperate with and run well on the Microsoft platform – for the benefit of the companies' common customers. Lewin is based at Microsoft’s Mountain View, Calif. campus. A 25-year Silicon Valley veteran, Lewin was most recently CEO of Aurigin Systems Inc., an enterprise software company focused on intellectual property asset management. He also spent 18 years as an executive, leading sales and marketing divisions for companies including Apple Computer Corp., NeXT Inc. and GO Corporation. In addition, Lewin has served as a consultant for emerging companies, venture capital firms and corporate joint ventures. Lewin holds an A.B. in politics from Princeton University. | Angus Logan, Senior Technical Product Manager, Windows Live Platform, Microsoft  | Angus Logan is a Senior Technical Product Manager in the Windows Live Platform team in Redmond. Angus’s team is responsible for all technical marketing content ranging from conference presentations (MIX, TechEd) to online samples (Windows Live Quick Apps). Prior to being on the Windows Live Platform team, Angus was a Portals Technology Specialist with Microsoft Australia. Prior to that, Angus worked for several Microsoft partners, was an MVP, and co-authored a book on Microsoft Content Management Server. Previously Dave launched & ran marketing for job search engine Simply Hired, and its evil twin SimplyFired.com. Prior to co-founding Foundry Group, Ryan started his career in venture capital at Mobius Venture Capital in January 2000. He currently serves on the board of Memeo for Foundry Group, a $225m early-stage venture fund Ryan co-founded in 2007. Notable companies that Ryan has invested in or sat on the boards of include Postini, acquired last year by Google, Sling Media, acquired last year by EchoStar, and StubHub, acquired last year by eBay. Prior to joining Mobius Venture Capital, Ryan co-founded Excite in 1993. There Ryan held the role of Principal Engineer and was a key technological contributor to the company’s search engine and content management systems. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University. | Seema Ramchandani, Program Manager, Microsoft Silverlight Team, Microsoft  | Seema Ramchandani is a Program Manager on the Microsoft Silverlight team in Redmond, where she works on the graphics system and optimizing the platform’s performance. Seema initially joined Microsoft’s WPF (Avalon) team in 2003 to design and build WPF’s Controls and Panel system, and then moved to work on the MIL layer’s hardware acceleration story. Prior to her tenure at Microsoft, Seema worked on brain-computer interfaces. | Sam Ramji, Director of Platform Technology Strategy, Open Source Software, Microsoft  | Sam directs the Open Source Software Lab at Microsoft doing primary research on various open source projects, and driving interoperability between Microsoft and key open source technologies. He leads Open Source Technology Strategy, including engaging with commercial Open Source companies like Novell, JBoss, Zend and SugarCRM, to help Microsoft advance our support for and understanding of the open source development, community, and marketing models. Sam has led engineering teams building large-scale applications on Open Source software (at Ofoto.com) as well as hands-on development of client, client-server, and distributed applications on Unix, Windows, and Macintosh. Prior to his current role at Microsoft, Sam was a Director of Emerging Business working on the Silicon Valley Campus where he managed relationships with Venture Capitalists and entrepreneurs. Sam has held management and strategy positions at BEA Systems and Ofoto.com and has worked with Fortune 500 CTOs and architects. He is currently leading Plaxo’s “Open Social Web” initiative to put users back in control of who they know when using socially-enabled sites by using open data-sharing standards. An active participant in the Web 2.0 community, Joseph has built web applications for many years, including Plaxo’s online address book, web widgets, and was architect and lead developer of the Plaxo 3.0 rich AJAX address book, calendar, and sync tool.
